Mel and I spent last weekend at Schooners Cove Inn at Cannon Beach, and I have to say, it was wonderful. We have lived in Oregon for about 5 years now, and out of all the coastal resorts we’ve visited, this was the best.
We stayed in the captain’s double, which was incredibly spacious. There were two comfortable beds, a fireplace in the living room, a deck with a BBQ that looked out on the beach, and a small kitchen.
Mel and I often go to the coast in the fall because we love watching the storms roll in, and I don’t think we could have asked for a better place to do it. Out our window we could see wonderful rock formations with waves crashing against them. It warmed up a bit on Saturday, so we stepped out into the beach. A small jaunt away was Haystack Rock, a formation that any Goonies fan will recognize.
Schooners Cove Inn was right in the heart of Cannon Beach. It’s a cute town with many wonderful places to eat and a several candy stores with homemade taffy. Most of the restaurants are in what look like old coastal houses, giving each dining experience a homey feel, which matched most of what often tasted like home cooked food.
Honestly, if you are looking for a wonderful place to visit the Oregon Coast, Schooners Cove Inn at Cannon Beach is it.
